Wake Up

Wake Up!

By Twinkle VanFleet

 Wake Up by Twinkle VanFleet

You don’t have to go there

Leave behind the bondage of someone else’s sin

You’re stronger than all you seemed

Be your own conscience, redeemed.

Wake up, wake up

Never met Angel, never met Molly,

Never headed toward the main line

Glanced over at the snow,

Wash broke so many lives.-

Rising above the influence,

In crowds that made it seem

It’s okay to indulge,

Be accepted into the cream.

Redik, no trip,

nevah needed the shit

Didn’t have to go there

Throw down, omit.

A little lick, no trick

Imagery and fuse

Before you miss the point

This is my nikkah ass muse.

Pressure to the hopeless,

The ones left behind,

In a world full of chaos

Pain and loss entwined.

star-dust, where the go?

Ball, Bomber, chasing the grams

Crashing hard, heading for the Q

Reaching for the Bamb Bambs.

Wake up, wake up,

Popping pills, La glass, got to go fast

Better not go there

They got your name on blast

Comin’ down, losing yourself,

Remember who you are

You make you or break you,

Come back from afar.

Never had to meet Angel,

Never went looking for Molly,

Didn’t travel down that main line

No time for dimes just a few rhymes.

No mistake in walking the shoes

Of someone else, nothing to lose

All was gained, no regrets

I got this shit on reset

Let the devil’s catch the fade

With your own will power

Because only we control

Our final hour

Drug abuse, misuse, alcohol, wild hearts judged

No one got backbone, until they be grudged.

Wake up, wake up

You’re stronger than your worse dream

Love yourself first and last,

Be absolute and pristine.

I got you!

Wake up.

This piece is most likely controversial. There is much imagery in it. It’s written from the point of multiple views.

It is dedicated to all those who struggle with addiction and all those who’ve come up on the other side despite the ‘tragedies’ of life. It does not reflect personal addiction, but rather understanding from multiple sources. Slightly edited from the original.

Collaborative consideration open for discussion.

Any judgement for this piece will only make me prouder of it. #StrongerThanPain #Ohana

Awoken

Grand Universe by Antifan Real

She thinks she can make it now
She knows that there there’s no win or lose.
She thinks that the fight is a matter of mind,
She knows that we give up or choose.

She believes that pain is a matter of perception,
We hide ourselves in ache, loss and rejection
She thinks that she can move past the hell,
She knows she has his protection.

She heard the whispers and saw the descent,
She felt the flutter and witnessed the havoc
She thinks forever is in the palm of his hand,
She knows life is precious, tragic and magic.

She hid in the dark, safe from the violence,
She kept from the path that could lead to no return
She shrugged off the violations,
Yet still felt the burn.

She wore the brand and inclined her head,
She was obedient and gave obeisance
She came out of the silence,
And revoked public acquiescence.

She saw tomorrow through the light,
She saw beyond the material world
She felt the vibrations and breathed in time,
Awoken, as the universe whirled.

A Bit of Hope

A Bit of Hope

By Twinkle VanFleet

shutterstock_129078545 - GodsHand

A hand reached out from heaven,

And lifted her toward the sky,

She saw a glimpse of heaven,

Through the twinkle in his eyes.

I give to you the world,

There you will change many lives,

Because of you, they will love me,

They will see me… the spirit,

Through your eyes.

I gave to you hope,

You will always hope for them,

I gave to you a voice,

Use it now and again.

I gave you a golden heart,

So it may always be true,

I gave to you the personality,

I made not another soul like you.

You will always shine,

Like stars of the night-light,

You are a special one,

From the dust,

I made you right.

Your words will teach them,

Only a few and I will understand,

His heart will love you,

He receives from me your hand.

Teach them the truth,

You will know what it means,

You will be the many winds,

Beneath his wings.

He will cherish you, but

Your own heart will cherish him more,

Together, you must share with the world,

My hopes and dreams

Hope is what I made you for.

Flash Flood

Flash flood,
Almost could’ve.

Bled out,
Still hoping about.

High risk,
Twice amiss.

Damaged,
Let go.

Oh my!
What do ya know.
Smiling,
Whoa!

Wait!
“What do you mean?”
Flash Floods,
Just a bad dream.

Break down, shake down,
Advisement under care.
Back down, throw down,
Submission to despair.

Let down,
No one around,
Breathe!
3 abound.

Flash Flood,
Back into the blood.
Always there,
Forever loved.

17

By Twinkle Wood-VanFleet

For my husband Erik VanFleet

If 17 could last forever, my flight just left the ground-

Heading for my home town, young and summer bound.

If 17 might last forever, oh yes! That’s where I’d be-

Ssh! Can you feel that moment, the first time you laid eyes on me.

Listen! Can you hear the music? Would you have looked my way again?

Would the song still be playing, or ending just as friends?

If 17 could last forever, still at the river, in the sand?

Or strolling through Old Sac, while walking hand in hand.

Hey! Can you feel the summer time heat? June through hot August nights-

Our first night at Garcia’s Bends, together beneath the moonlight.

Oh! Can you feel that memory, as you first took me in your arms?

If that summer had just begun, would you still shower me with charms?

If 17 would last forever, could you have loved me in the end?

I just close my eyes and remember, I’m still 17 again.

Without hope,

We would have nothing to pray for-

Without faith,

We would have nothing to believe in,

Without life and death,

We would have nothing to look forward to-

Without God,

We would have been nothing at all.

Look At Us Now

LOOK AT US NOW

By Twinkle VanFleet

E and T October 26, 2013

Him and I, October 26, 2013.

To love is without judgement; you know this must be true-

No man can put asunder, forever- only you.

Only rarely did we struggle- until suddenly came at once,

But even after the fall, our love outlasted the punch.

You never had to prove to me- you always tried your best,

Your determination would bring us up- but no one would have guessed.

Tremendous is my faith in you- I’ve never been unsure,

I’ve never doubted your abilities, because i knew who you were.

Endlessly praying for your spirit-during the cold hard run,

Prayers would soon be answered, the challenges overcome.

Acknowledging determined ambitions- that were virtually always missed,

Accomplishments defended with pride- that some said couldn’t exist.

Content in regards to our future, my love for you- never in doubt,

Lips once quivering babbled words- will dwell in endless pout.

True love will never make judgements, trust and faith in the solemn vow-

Baby, did you know we would reach it- Te Amo, look at us now.

Sulteza

I ask of you, just one favor-

Let no one be your judge,

Or take advantage of your kindness-

Leaving you to hold a grudge.

Let no one steal from you your helpfulness-

Or rob you of your soft heart,

Or use you “til you’re bitter-

Or push you to fall apart.

Your gifts you’ve shared so freely-

Asking nothing in return,

Only hoping for that trust-

you so dearly do deserve.

Many will take for granted-

That “friend” they have to turn to,

Only once did I know an angel-

Sulteza, “It was you!”

When you look to yesterday-

I hope that you have,

You’ll remember the loyalty-

What I shared back.

Especially that first time-

And without question,

You had only one place to turn-

So it was without mention.

Always be happy-

keep laughing like we did,

I hope you’ve looked over your shoulder-

To see all that we’d give.

Separately, yet together-

As we moved on to live,

We’d always find our way back-

Just like when we were kids.

Aftermath of Tragedy- God Bless the USA !

Aftermath of Tragedy

God Bless the USA !

by Twinkle Wood-VanFleet

wemustneverforget

Headlines read

“America under attack”

My body began to shiver,

The World Trade Center One was on fire

My heart began to pound,

Why, oh why..this cold malicious act.

Please God, help the People,

Another plane heading for Tower Two

Oh, I Prayed.. Lord catch Them..

They’re heading straight for You.

Tears streamed down my cheek..

Our People scattered around,

Praying for New York City

Thousands never to be found.

Let Our Country show No mercy

Terrorism is not the way…

An ultimate price shall be paid

Soon comes judgement day.

In the aftermath of tragedy

Hoping pain eases in the hearts

Of the Families left behind

If not today or tomorrow…

Then somewhere in time.

Yes, I’m still proud to be an American

Even evil couldn’t take that away

I’m as free as Our People they killed

God Bless, the USA!

La Pagar Kajira

La Pagar Kajira

ellajC

by Twinkle VanFleet

Without forced, mislead intentions

Entrusting was his heart

Nothing ventured, nothing gained

Unless sincerity tore it apart

Bridges burned, abandoned

Embracing a future anew

Stepping over piles of rubble

Took on another view

Finding contentment and solace

That some had torn away

Strength, support and conviction

Tamed sorrow for another new day

He knew passion and fear existed

Beneath the pains she hid so well

The afflictions inside, she expressed it

but really who could tell

He could lead her toward survival

She could serve with fire or ice

Submit to another tomorrow

Make the best of a challenging life

Grow with determined ambitions

Retaining a slaves pride and grace

Surrendering into his will

That ashes have come to replace

Obedient, im-bonded, subservient

A woman, mans truest treasure

A pleasing, passionate, fiery slut

For his heavenly erotic pleasure

Maybe in his chains and at his mercy

Perhaps once, a preconceived idea

Still nothing but his slave girl
